The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow written by Washington Irving differs from the movie The Legend of Sleepy Hollow made by Tim Burton very much.  Firstly, Ichabod and Katrina's relationship is different.  In the movie, Ichabod and Katrina were complete strangers until they met each other at a party which Katrina's dad was hosting.  But in the short story, Katrina was Ichabod's student.  Secondly, the ending was very differernt.  In the movie, Ichabod and Katrina manage to escape from Sleepy Hollow and live together in Ichabod's home country.  But in the short story, Ichabod himself is slain by the headless horseman.  And lastly, the wirepuller of the horseman was different.  In the short story there was no wirepuller, but in the movie it was Katrina's step-mother.

I liked the short story better, because it shows more details than the movie and I also like the fact that it explains briefly about Ichabod's past.
